Empowering Children Through Education and Care
Providing a safe and nurturing environment for your little ones.
Providing a safe and nurturing environment for your little ones.
Wageira Yurumein Home Childcare is a trilingual program based on child development which approaches the theories of Regio Emilia, Soy Bilingue curriculum, Creative curriculum and others. Learning through play is viewed as the cornerstone of the curriculum. We provide protection, security, stimulation, support, limits, and affection. Children are respected as individuals within a child-oriented rather than teacher-directed program.
Children are given the opportunity to explore materials and participate in a variety of experiences. Activities are carefully planned and implemented in an open-environment setting. Children are free to choose from age-appropriate activities including art, music, language development, pre-math skills, science and nature, and dramatic play. We use a time-based model for organizing language usage in our trilingual language (Garifuna, English and Spanish). Children develop self-esteem, independence and problem-solving skills as they make choices and assist in planning the environment and the activities.
The goal of the curriculum is to support the development of age-appropriate skills and to enhance the child’s growth and development:
A sense of belonging in an early childcare program can transmit a sense of feeling safe and secure by creating a trusting and nurturing environment through cultivating responsive relationships with peers, families and educators. When children feel safe and secure, they start to develop a sense of belonging by being confident to explore their environment and community.
Childcare educators support children’s sense of being by providing intentional environments through interactions and responsiveness. Showing respect and validation of each child as an individual.
In early childhood a child’s sense of becoming changes throughout the times as the child gain independence through knowledge and experiences. The child form relationships and acquires abilities/talents. This prepares the child to actively participate and be part of today’s society.
Our primary goal is for children to feel safe and secure. Prior to being independent a child must know that he or she can depend on adults and a predictable environment. Children are treated with respect and kindness. We recognize that children develop at different rates and have different interests.
If you have questions about the opportunities available in our programs, feel free to send us a message. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
